It doesn't matter how many times I visit, I am always amazed at some of the photographs I take at Yosemite. Each visit yields different lighting conditions, different angles, seasonal differences. May 2001 showed Yosemite to be still thawing out from the Winter. Tuolumne Meadows was chilly, and the roads had just recently been opened for the Season. Plenty of standing water (melted snow) was in Tuolumne, forming pools in the Meadow. Plenty of patches of snow were also in evidence in the High Country. There were also some pools of water in various places around Yosemite Valley as well. The pools of water mostly disappear by Summer.
When you stay at Yosemite Lodge, this is the view you are treated to every day. At the bottom of the picture is the roof of one of the Lodge buildings.	Valley Portal View - up Hwy 120. You can see Bridalveil Falls in the distance. The Merced River runs down the middle of the Valley.
